MRT Wordle: a daily Singapore station game, out August 25

Yes, an MRT Wordle exists now. DailyMetro's Singapore edition launches on August 25, 2026, and it's already playable in early access at dailymetro.live/singapore. One mystery MRT station per day, and your job is to find it from the clues.

DailyMetro started as a Paris metro game I built for a friend, went unexpectedly viral, and has been growing city by city since. Singapore is the first of the new wave, and honestly one I was most excited to build: the MRT is a beautifully legible network to turn into a puzzle.

How it works

Type any station as a guess and the game compares it to the mystery station, column by column:

• Lines: which of your station's lines the answer shares. Guess Dhoby Ghaut and you've tested three lines at once.
• Direction: a compass arrow pointing from your guess toward the answer.
• Name length: how many letters the answer has, more or less than your guess.
• Area: whether you're in the right part of the island.

There's no guess cap. You keep narrowing until the row goes green, and the fewer guesses you need, the more points you score. A harder Connaisseur mode swaps the softer clues for opening year and annual ridership, which turns it into a proper transit-nerd exam. There's also a Map mode: the mystery station is marked on an empty map, and each wrong guess reveals another layer, first the shape of its lines, then their colours, then the full network.

What's in the Singapore edition

The dataset covers 146 stations across the six MRT lines: North South, East West, North East, Circle, Downtown, and Thomson-East Coast. East West and Downtown are the biggest pools at 35 stations each, so knowing your way from Pasir Ris to Tuas Link genuinely pays off.

The data has texture beyond the map, and the game uses it. The oldest station in the set is Ang Mo Kio, opened in 1987 with the first stretch of the North South line. The busiest is Dhoby Ghaut, the three-line interchange under Orchard Road's foot, at nearly 27 million riders a year in our data. Every station and line also has its own reference page in the Singapore explorer if you'd rather study before you play. No LRT for now: the daily pool stays on the MRT proper so every answer is a station everyone has at least ridden past.

Launch day and early access

The official launch is Tuesday, August 25, 2026, which becomes Day 1 of the Singapore puzzle. Until then the edition is live in early access at /singapore: same daily station, same scoring, it just isn't listed in the city picker yet. If you start now you'll have a head start on the streak leaderboard when everyone else shows up.
